Commissioned by the New Works project in 2024
Interculturality in music is a focal point for the master's program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My goal for this piece is to not simply fuse musical ideas from varied cultures together but to go deeper and connect ideas and musical concepts from cultures that deal with meditation, battle, and dance. This piece, in its current state, represents resilience and fortitude from a perspective that each one of us deals with it in a unique and special way at the individual level.
